I'm a software engineer and music producer.
I've done a lot of different things along the way. Usually because something interested me and I wanted to learn how to do it.
I got to software through gyms, dive boats, construction sites and a recording studio.
In 1998 I moved to Thailand, worked as a dive instructor and learned Thai. I stayed longer than planned.
Studied music production for two years. Great decision. Terrible business model.
I loved the creative work, but needed to make a living too. Frontend turned out to be a good fit. I started studying it in 2019.
Ghost Nation is the band I started with Tomas in 2017. We write and produce the music ourselves, two guys in a studio making what we want to hear.
From day one, we set a high standard for the songwriting, recording, production and mixing. Whether you like the music is a matter of taste. The care that goes into making it is something we won't compromise on.
The songs have found an audience too. By August 2026, they'd passed 22.8 million streams and views across platforms.
It's the most rewarding creative work I've done. We use AI for marketing, press releases and the website, but not for songwriting or music production.
Inside Ghost NationDay to day I work with React and TypeScript. I've used AI every day since November 2022, for development and planning.
Some of my own projects come from things I wanted to use. Dewey helps me or my AI assistant find information in saved notes. Mission Control is where I review what my assistant has prepared and decide what to work on next.
